Periarticular Cortical Screws 3.5 mm

These 3.5 mm cortical screws are the non-locking screw option for periarticular locking plate systems, used wherever a plate must be drawn down to bone or a fragment must be compressed before locking screws complete the construct. They are genuine original implants of the Zimmer Biomet ZPLP periarticular locking plate system, stocked by BoneCraft as an independent distributor.

  • 3.5 mm cortical thread form for plate-to-bone compression and lag applications
  • Twenty stocked lengths from 10 mm to 70 mm cover metaphyseal and diaphyseal work
  • Used in the non-locking holes of periarticular plates to seat the plate against bone
  • Held in BoneCraft warehouse stock in original manufacturer packaging

Periarticular Cortical Screws 3.5 mm — Compression Before Locking

A locking plate construct rarely begins with locking screws. The plate first has to sit exactly where the reduction plan puts it, and that is the job of conventional cortical screws. Driven through the non-locking holes of a periarticular plate, a cortical screw pulls the plate down against the bone surface, restores contact where the anatomy demands it, and can lag a fragment into position. Once the plate is seated and held, locking screws are added to build the fixed-angle frame.

This family covers the cortical screw side of that workflow at the 3.5 mm calibre used by small and large periarticular plates alike. The stocked range runs from 10 mm for shallow periarticular fixation up to 70 mm for long metaphyseal purchase, in twenty lengths, so the surgeon can match screw length to measured depth at each hole rather than compromise on what is on the table.

Product Details

All screws in this family share the 3.5 mm cortical thread form with a conventional non-locking head, sized for the compression holes of periarticular locking plates. Selection during surgery is made on measured drilling depth at each hole; final use is always determined by the operating surgeon according to the fracture pattern and the chosen plate. The table lists the stocked length of each ordering code.
