Volar fixed-angle plating has become the workhorse of operative distal radius treatment. Placed on the flat volar surface and anchored through a fixed-angle distal row, the plate holds the reduced joint surface even in osteopenic bone, where conventional screws would rely on thread purchase alone. The volar route also keeps hardware away from the extensor tendons.
The anatomic DVR head is shaped to sit distal on the volar rim region while respecting the watershed line, and the version range lets the surgeon match plate width and shaft length to the patient — narrow for slender bones, wide for broad articular blocks, extended shafts for fracture lines running into the metaphysis. Reduction quality and implant selection remain decisions for the operating surgeon.
